When e-cigarettes were first created, they were intended as a way to help smokers wean themselves off of harmful cigarettes to quit smoking forever. Thanks to deceptive and illegal marketing practices as well as mounting evidence that suggests e-cigarettes aren’t as safe as they are advertised, vaping devices have been at the center of the national debate.
No company has caused more controversy than Juul Labs.
The Juul cigarette is by far the most popular type of vaping device on the market. Juul Labs has been criticized for helping increase the use of e-cigarettes among high schoolers by a whopping 78% in 2018, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The multibillion-dollar company is already embroiled in dozens of lawsuits. But as evidence points to hidden dangers of pneumonia and other lung issues among Juul users, lawyers expect Juul Labs to be hit with even more lawsuits for hiding risks.
