Breaking News: Bard MDL going to Southern District of Ohio, Judge Sargus

The United States Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation just order that an MDL be formed. It is transferring Davol/Bard hernia mesh cases to the Southern District of Ohio. The Honorable Edmund A. Sargus Jr. will manage this docket.

About Davol/Bard Hernia Mesh isducts

Hernia mesh are made of polypropylene and used in laparoscopic hernia surgery. According to the FDA, as many as 800,000 hernia repair surgeries are performed every year.

The Davol/Bard hernia mesh products can lead to severe complications, including needing surgery to remove the mesh product. Other complications include perforated organs, rejection of the mesh, infections, nerve damage, and adhesion to organs.
